Maison Borel is a nineteenth century factory that still holds some of the most antique textile machineries of the world. Its looms and its history belong to the antique Buenos Aires.
It was established 125 years ago by French immigrants. It was an iconic factory from the Belle Époque of Buenos Aires which was well known for its specialized textiles. It is an undisputable tribute to Argentinean culture.
Nowadays Maison Borel is a singular destination in Buenos Aires which is assiduously visited by voyagers from all over the world.
We invite you to visit Maison Borel and Casa Ayma, with its historical looms and handcrafting techniques. A sensory connection with the most exclusive natural fibers of the world – such as guanaco and vicuña – and a walk through the ponchos’ atelier and the workshop where we make our buttons by hand.
